Now Thats Wicked

Hi guys from the crew here at the palms caravan park, Hervey Bay! Well where shall we start? The whale watching season may be officially over for 2008, but we are still having a whale of a time! For those who are of an adventurous nature or simply the young at heart freshwater kayaking have some awesome fully guided tours available. Snorkelling gear is provided and all tours except quick paddle are pick up and deliver from a central location. I can’t think of a more pleasant or relaxing way to enjoy the bay wether you are a local or one of our many visitors. Because this is such a popular experience bookings are essential, but hey that’s our pleasure here at the palms!

Talking of awesome, Hervey Bay’s fastest vessel That’s Awesome is now offering Sun Indulgence Cruise. Take a spin around the Great Sandy Straits;  relax on a deserted island with a complimentary exotic fruit platter and a cool drink. Stop off at Kingfisher Bay Resort and walk the lookout trail and be spellbound by the breathtaking views.

As you can see we recently had a wicked time with the gang from WICKED CAMPERS, Paul and Emma did an fabulous job of getting everyone where they were supposed to be and actually had a wicked time themselves. The guys were travelling in a cavalcade from Brisbane to Cairns, and were hoping to do it all in roughly 12 days! Obviously time was of the essence so the guys opted for one of the many special Kingfisher Bay  tours we recommended and booked for them, which is an amazing deal, for sixty dollars for two people, the guys were picked from the Palms Caravan Park and taken to the Hervey Bay Marina were they boarded the fast cat and criused over to Fraser Island and spent the day at Kingfisher Bay Resort where they enjoyed morning tea and lunch at the sandbar and a ranger-guided tour around the resort. The resort dropped them back to The Palms that evening. We took some crazy photos of the guys before they left and we are looking forward to catching up with them on their way back down.

Christmas is nearly upon us and we here at the palms are gearing up for what promises to be a fabulous and fun festive season, perhaps we’ll see you here,  Cheers for now from all of us here at the palms i.e. Wayne, Janet and Graeme, call in and say hi we love that! Maybe see you soon.

Brilliant just brilliant,

This Whale season has been great, we went out on the Tasman Venture on Sunday afternoon from the Hervey Bay Marina and we were treated to the greatest show on earth. We saw Whale calves breaching over and over again, and their mothers were pushing them towards the boat to go and see the humans…hahah… but seriously there was this bull Whale peck slapping to attract other Whales and it was awesome to watch and the noise of the slap was like a small clap of thunder and then he let both pecks go he was having a ball.

Our skipper Lloyd lowered the underwater hydrophone into the ocean and we picked up on this bull Whale singing, it brought goose bumps to my skin.

We saw so many Whales on the day there is no way you can call this Whale season over. So if you are on your way To Hervey Bay or thinking about Hervey Bay call into the Palms Caravan Park stay for the night and let me book you out on a Whale vessel the next day.

What Better Way to Get Around Hervey Bay

So What Are You Waiting For!!!!

What better way to see Hervey Bay than on a Harley look alike motor bike. All you need is a car licence and you can cruise along the Esplanade and take in the great views while enjoying the wind in your face. All scooters are automatic, and come with helmets and a full tank of fuel at no extra charge. All you need is a licence and a credit
card for the (security) deposit.

They’re so easy to ride, with just a twist
of the throttle and away you go!

Stop anywhere without any parking hassles, if you want to
grab a bite or enjoy a coffee at one of the many great cafés
along the way.

Go Go Karting
If you enjoy the thrill of motoring you owe it to yourself to experience Go Karting, the Hervey Bay Go Kart track offers a 650 mitre all bitumen track, you can go it alone or hire a tandem kart, just a whole lot of fun .

Tandem Bike Hire

For those who would like to take it a bit easier Fraser Coast Bicycle hire offers Adult Bikes for $15.00 per half day or for more of a laugh you can hire a Tandem bike for $30.. per half day, which ever way you go it is a great way to see Hervey Bay.

The Palms Caravan Park will organize your hire bookings at the front office at no extra cost.

Backpackers Deserve More…….

The Palms Caravan Park believes that people traveling around Australia deserve to get good advice, good service and the use of good clean faculties. The Palms Caravan Park shares their knowledge of local tours and attractions we also offer low site fee’s to overseas guests to give more value towards their stay. We are popular with backpacker’s and their vans and RV motor homes because of our friendly service, I have noticed our guest are staying longer at the Palms because they like it here and it is central to everything, it also gives them more time to look around at what Hervey Bay has to offer.

Travelers shopping online and phone don’t always receive the full picture as to what to expect from a chosen tour, our staff at the palms have a good understanding of what each tour around Fraser Island and with the whales has to offer, we have DVD’s on most tours showing first hand what you will see and what to expect on any tour of choice. The Palms Caravan Park is an information centre with a good knowledge of what Hervey Bay and the surrounding areas have to offer.
